I recently had the opportunity of joining a fabulous bunch of ladies for a Winter Spa Day at Steenberg Spa, hosted by Travel Chat SA. When it comes to spa pampering, you do not need to ask me twice, and the Steenberg Spa is one of my favourites.
Winter Spa Day at Steenberg Spa
As well as the Spa, the Steenberg Hotel is one of my all-time favourite luxury hotels. The Steenberg Hotel and Spa is situated on the Constantia Wine Route, on one of the oldest farms in the Cape, which has a rich and fascinating history.
Steenberg Estate is what I consider to be a complete luxury destination. Not only does it boast the Five-star Luxury Steenberg Hotel, two fantastic restaurants, an award-winning winery, a championship 18-hole golf course, private residences but it is also home to a world-class spa. All this in the most beautiful Winelands setting.
Steenberg Spa
Our vision at Steenberg Spa is to create a unique lifestyle, to rejuvenate, regenerate and enhance youthful radiance while indulging in soulful decadence.
On arrival at the Spa, we made our way to the changing room, where we changed into a luxurious spa gown and slippers. Once ready we were ready it was off to the relaxation room to meet our therapists. Our group were all having different treatments, and mine was a QMS Facial.
QMS Collagen Rejuvenation Facial
My QMS Facial consisted of a Rejuvenation Treatment, with natural soluble collagens, as well as an Oxygen Treatment. Also part of the facial was an application of an algae mask which covers both the eyes and the mouth. It is quite an unusual sensation and if you are at all claustrophobic can be quite alarming, but worth it! The mask starts off fluid during the application and is very cooling to the skin. Once set, it reveals an imprint of your skin, highlighting any areas of concern.
Another add-on was the QMS Eye Recovery Treatment to help with tired and puffy eyes. All I can say is, I was in heaven! My skin felt ultra smooth and looked radiant but most of all I felt relaxed.
Winter Spa Specials
Steenberg Spa is a definite winner for me from the luxurious treatments, to the stunning Winelands location, it is sheer bliss.
Why not indulge yourself with their July Winter Special. The Intonga Infusion Massage makes use of Intonga sticks, to massage shea butter and essential oils into the skin. Hot stones are used in conjunction with the yellow wood sticks, to help relax tight muscles, as well as aiding in the release of toxins. After your treatment, you can enjoy a cup of delicious hot chocolate.
The cost of the Intoga Infusion massage is R1 100 for a 90 minutes massage; a saving of R270. The special is valid from 1st to 31st July 2018.
As well as our amazingly relaxing Spa Treatment, we also enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Catharina’s Restaurant but keep a lookout for more about that in a separate article.
