A fundamental part of what I do, is creating great visuals for use on the Inspired Living Website and Social Media. I believe that people often do not even give an article a second glance if the photographs are poor quality. I am self-taught, and while I know my way around a camera, I would love to up my photography game! One of the things on my Bucket List is to do a Digital Photography Course with Getsmarter.

A true testament to where one’s passion lies is whether you are willing to invest in it or not. I am not only referring to a financial investment but time and effort as well. You cannot expect to be good at something if are not willing to spend time improving your skills.
I have been toying with doing an Online Photography Course for a few years but have never been brave enough to take the plunge. My most significant worries are whether I will have the time to do the work required and if it is worth spending the money. Often excuses like these hold us back from realising our dreams. Ultimately, investing in education is an essential part of achieving success.
Getsmarter
When searching for online courses, I discovered GetSmarter, an online education company, based in Cape Town and London. The company was founded in 2008, with an online course in Wine Evaluation, by brothers Sam and Rob Paddock.
Today, GetSmarter collaborates with leading universities to offer a variety of premium online short courses, aimed at working professionals. Their global alumni community consists of over 50,000 lifelong learners.

So what are the benefits of doing an Online Digital Photography Course?
By doing a digital photography course, you will not only improve your camera knowledge but learn professional habits, to help you gain complete creative control of your photographs.
You will be able to take your camera off “Auto” and unlock its full potential. Once you understand the workings of your camera, you will be able to develop a style of your own.
The course will also allow you to constructively critique your work, as well as getting feedback from your Head Tutor and classmates. Terms such as aperture, ISO, and shutter speed, will no longer seem like a foreign language!
Other aspects you will learn is how to use light to your advantage and how to edit photographs like a pro.
Other Courses for Bloggers
As a blogger and online marketer, it is also vital to stay up to date with Social Media, and SEO Trends. If you are looking to evolve your blog into more of business, then a short course in Social Media Marketing or Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) could prove extremely valuable.
