As I mentioned in a recent post I did for Cavendish Square, Vivante is one of our favourite sushi spots. The thing is, they do so much more than just sushi!
Vivante Living Life
I often pop into Cavendish to do my grocery shopping during the week or on the weekends with the family for a bit of retail therapy. It has become something of a ritual to squeeze breakfast or lunch into our shopping trip. We each have our favourites, but I know for certain, Vivante wins hands-down as far as my girls are concerned. As I mentioned, they LOVE the sushi.
Vivante recently expanded their menu to include a great selection of Tapas dishes. Also new on the menu are cocktails, mocktails and a great range of wines and beers. The extensive menu offers something for everyone. Their coffee is superb, which as you know is of particular importance to me! I also love the restaurant’s contemporary interiors and relaxed atmosphere.
To celebrate the start of the holidays the girls and I popped in for lunch, which naturally included sushi!
On the Menu
The restaurant offers a full breakfast menu, which includes vegetarian options. Lighter meals include Healthy Salads, Gourmet Sandwiches or delicious Homemade Flatbreads. For those looking for something a bit more substantial, the Mains Menu, includes tasty dishes such as – Slow Roasted Pork Belly, Fish and Chips, Chicken Pho and Homemade Burgers.
I am a big fan of Tapas, and I particularly love ordering a variety of “small plates” to share. A few of my favourites include the Short Rib Beef Bitterballen, Beef Teriyaki Skewers, Aubergine Chips with Honey & Feta and the Crispy Squid. An idea if you are just looking for something to nibble on, are the Flatbread Triangles. Order them with a selection of dips, such as Homemade Hummus, Tzatziki, and Babaganousch. This type of dining is perfect if you are popping in for a few cocktails or beers after work.
Last but certainly not least is their Sushi Menu. A few of the must try dishes include Tempura on Top – California Roll, Rainbow Rolls, the Seared Tuna Salad and the Tempura Prawn Platter, which consists of Tempura Prawns and a selection of seasonal Tempura Vegetables.
For lunch, we ordered a selection of Tapas and Sushi dishes, the girls opted for Innocent Daiquiris, and I had a glass of the Protea Rose by Anthonij Rupert Wines – it was a celebration after all. Everything was delicious, and although we super tempted to try one of their delicious sounding cakes, sadly none of us had any room left. Next time!
Drinks
Their range of hot beverages includes Cappuccino’s, Café Latte’s, Affogato, Hot Chocolate, and Rooibos Espresso. You can also ask your waiter about their Loose Leaf Teas, served in cast iron kettle, with a timer, to ensure brewing perfection.
If you are looking for something a bit more potent then perhaps one of the Vivante Signature Cocktails or a G&T would be more your scene. My girls love the Mocktails. The Drinks Menu also includes a selection of local wine, and beer, which includes a few Craft Beers.
My Verdict
Vivante offers a wonderfully relaxed dining experience, in a convenient location and the perfect excuse to take a break from shopping! You truly are spoilt for choice, with the vast variety of dishes on offer. Portions are generous, ensuring you do not leave hungry! As well as delicious food the staff is super friendly, which makes for an overall great meal.
