The Season of Sauvignon 2016 is upon us! Think warmer sunny days, fun with friends and naturally, glasses of cool crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The Durbanville Wine Valley, is celebrating the season in style, and invites Sauvignon Blanc lovers to join them.

Nestled in the Tygerberg Hills, a mere 20 minutes drive from Cape Town, lies the Durbanville Wine Valley. The Valley has become well known, not only for its picturesque vineyards and award winning wines, but also its friendly atmosphere.
Altydgedacht Wine Estate, Bloemendal Wine Estate, D’Aria Wine Estate, Diemersdal Wine Estate, De Grendel Wine and Restaurant, Durbanville Hills Wine, Hillcrest Estate, Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery, Meerendal Wine Estate, Nitida, Phizante Kraal Wines and Signal Gun, are the 12 prestigious wine farms, which make up the Wine Valley.
The Season of Sauvignon 2016, gives wine lovers the opportunity of delving deeper into the richness of Sauvignon Blanc, and offers visitors to the Valley, intriguing experiences around this celebrated varietal.
Celebrations will officially get underway at the beginning of October. Participating farms will present the Valley Tasting in their respective Tasting Rooms. You will be able to taste the Sauvignon Blancs of all 12 producers, at a cost of R50 per person.
Festival Info
The highlight of the Durbanville Season of Sauvignon 2016 is the Festival, which will take place over the weekend of 29th and 30th of October. The Valley’s 12 prestigious wine farms, will offer visitors a wide selection of fun-filled festivities. Festivities include Sauvignon Blanc inspired menus in the restaurants, Sauvignon Blanc tutored tastings in the tasting rooms, as well as fashion and art events.
I highly recommend you mark this off on your calendar now! We attended the festival last year, and throughly enjoyed it. As well as delicious food and wine, you can enjoy live music and there is entertainment for the kids! Below you will find a more detailed program of what each farm is offering, and there entrance and/or tasting fee.
