The countdown has begun – 26 days and counting! I cannot believe it is less than a month until we leave for London! I know most people think we are crazy, to be venturing off to the UK in mid-December! They are probably right seen as it is freezing, not to mention the current exchange rate but there is a purpose. Well a few actually…we have friends and family in the UK and want to spend time with them over the festive season. Then there is the possibility of a white Christmas – maybe just maybe. Last but certainly not least SHOPPING – sales, sales and more sales!!!
London Countdown
The most difficult thing is to not over pack because yes we {my daughters and hubby included} want to do some shopping. I am going to try and step outside of my comfort zone and pack light. Taking only the bare essentials and shopping for the rest there. I have it on good authority that our winter gear in SA, will not stand up to the cold in the UK! {pretty good excuse to go shopping if you ask me!}
Naturally, there are certain touristy things we would like to do. Some of which include Madam Tussauds, The Tate Museum and possibly the Tower of London. I would love to visit Sketch again {my girls have not been} and to get into the Christmas spirit, visit Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
We have been to the UK and London on a few occasions as a family, but the girls were much younger then. They are much older now, and I know there are many more things they would like to see and do. I am not sure if we will get through everyone to-do-list, but we will certainly try.
After spending Christmas in London, we will venture up north to Yorkshire, where we will welcome in the New Year! It is quite a while since Grant, and I have celebrated the Festive Season in another country, and although we will miss the family Christmas Traditions at home, I am excited about our adventure!
I will, unfortunately, not be unable to blog as regularly while we are away but I will at least try and share some of my adventures with you on social media. You can follow me on Instagram to keep up to date with my travels.
