The Maybelline journey began in 1915, when Tom Lyle Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted this formulation with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line, bringing about the birth of the first Mascara! Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea.
To this day Maybelline has been inspired by confident, accomplished women, to create scientifically-advanced formulas, revolutionary textures and up-to-the-minute, trendsetting make-up shades.
Some of my first makeup products {Tinkerbell does not count} were from Maybelline. I know for sure my first Mascara was from Maybelline. One of the first Beauty Pick posts I did featured Maybelline products. It is a brand I love and use everyday!

My first ever Maybelline purchase was mascara. I remember seeing the advert with the model Christy Turlington. She looked so high fashion and the make up was flawless. I have been an avid Maybelline fan ever since. Everytime I saw an advert of Maybelline and Christy was modeling, I made sure that I had the latest trend in makeup in my bag. My very first item from Maybelline was a lipstick back in the 90s. Since then… I have only bought Maybelline mascara.
My first Maybelline product was back in 1999 when I purchased a nail polish for my matric ball. I remember my mom using Maybelline back when I was younger and I have fond memories of playing with her makeup. I suppose I love it because it’s all I’ve known most of my younger years 🙂
My first (very exciting) Maybelline purchases were their fabulous mascara and a bright pink blusher!! Loved them!!

My first Maybelline purchase was an eyeliner. Maybelline products are very durable, and last the entire day … There’s no need to re-apply your make-up during the day. 🙂

I was never a true convert of Maybelline products when I was younger…I always thought that drugstore buys could never compete with top name make up products…OH HOW WRONG I WAS!
I am so inlove with the Maybelline Colour Lipsticks, wherever I go I always have a true red and a showstopper pink colour. They last, and are creamy and non-drying on your lips…making them essentials in any of my make up bags.

The first Maybelline product I bought was the Maybelline Great Lash mascara in black. I loved it because of its thin consistency and the fact that the application was easy and smooth without any clumps. I still LOVE it! It’s still my number 1 mascara and I am yet to find one that tops it. Maybelline, you ROCK! 🙂

My very first purchase was a Great Lash Mascara. I actually still have it, though I’ve used it up a long time ago, I think I kept it cause it was my very fist mascara purchase as well. Was a very proud day. I love Maybelline not just for their products, and pricing, but also because it has been a part of my makeup journey for years now. Something I will never part with.

love Maybelline. The very first lipstick I ever bought was a Maybelline Moisture Whip lipstick back in the early 90s. I mostly loved the brand because Christy Turlington was their spokes-model, and she was my favourite super model back then. Later, I started buying Full ‘n Soft mascara when it first came out in the late 90s (remember the Sarah Michelle Geller commercials?). Full ‘n Soft is the best mascara ever, but you can’t buy it anymore for some reason. I still like Maybelline mascaras – One-by-One and the Colossal are two of my favourites. I usually pick up the Colour Sensational lipstick in ‘Totally Toffee’ when it’s on sale as it’s a nice wearable nude colour. Wish they would bring back Full’n Soft!
My very first product was the Maybelline Kohl , Been an Indian having a Kohl in my makeup bag is a must . So I tried it , tested it and I loved it to my surprise it doesn’t smudge even when I tear … There after the only makeup products I use is Maybelline

My very first product of Maybelline used was the Dream Matte Mousse,It was love at first touch and I haven’t turned back,the mashmellow effect as I like to call it,soft on my skin,with max durabilty the entire day,I remember my first purchase like it was yesterday,my friends and I decided to head on down to make up corner and play around abit,the sales lady introduced us to Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and I thought to myself haha,this is just a gimick,once she applied it I was transformed,I not only looked great but I felt confident as well.
Define-A-Lash Waterproof Mascara and also the Define-A-Line Eyeliner. I’m still using both these items each day. Just love it, it’s better quality than the other Mascara and Eyeliner, it never smears. I love Maybeline ?

First product was their Great Lash mascara. It was and is still a staple in my make up bag. Love the Maybelline Maskara’s as it is one of the few that don’t irritate my eyes and wears all day long. Double win.

My first Maybelline product was the great lash mascara many years ago!! After seeing a program on TV where a international makeup artist declared it the best mascara ever, I decided to try it out. Well she was right!! I know that I join millions (billions?) of women in unison when I say it is just the best mascara in the world. I’ve tried other brands just for interest’s sake, but none have come close to the range of Maybelline mascaras. I’ve had to prove my lashes are real sometimes and have offered advice at makeup counters when other shoppers have admired my lashes. Happy birthday Maybelline – you may be 100 years old but you make your fans feel (and look?) like 21 years old day after day. You totally rock!! X
