I am not sure how many of you are big art fans, like me but the Da Vinci Exhibition, in Cape Town, has been extended! The Exhibition, which is the most comprehensive exhibit on Leonardo da Vinci to tour the world, was only scheduled to run until the 9th February 2014 but due to high demand, it has now been extended until 23 March 2014!
Da Vinci – The Genius is showing at Chavonnes Battery Museum, Clock Tower, V&A Waterfront. It showcases the achievements of Renaissance giant, Leonardo da Vinci and enlightens visitors about the unimaginable depth and breadth of Leonardo’s influence and intellectualism.
“This exhibition is a must-see for anyone who appreciates Leonardo’s exceptional works of art, not least the Mona Lisa, and for anyone who is interested in discovering how Leonardo laid the groundwork for some of modern society’s most impactful inventions, such as the helicopter, airplane, automobile, submarine, parachute and bicycle,” ~ Tyrone Thöle, managing director of Great World Exhibitions
I am super excited to be attending the exhibition this evening, as Da Vinci was actually one of the artists I studied at school and I am looking forward to seeing his work up close and personal!
