SodaStream recently sent me their latest machine to review. I am sure many of you will remember the old-school, brown SodaStream machine, well those are no longer.
SodaStream Source Review
Before receiving the machine, I was sent the specs and a few images of what to expect. It was apparent that the SodaStream machines have moved on somewhat since I was a child 😉 The new SodaStream Source will sit quite happily alongside any other state of the art gadgets, in your kitchen!
Form
The Source is in a new league with its super sleek design. Yves Behar, a designer-entrepreneur, who has worked with Samsung, Jawbone, Puma, and Prada among others, is behind the elegant lines of the SodaStream Source. It is available in a variety of different colours {white, black, blue and red} and features more convenient snap-lock bottle mechanism, for attaching the bottle to the drinks maker.
Making carbonated water and soft drinks is so simple – turn tap water into sparkling water in 3 seconds! Enjoy the convenience of home soda and protect the environment – no heavy bottles to carry, store at home or throw away. Sparkle to your taste with our delicious syrups. Add the flavor of your choice and make your favorite drink. Simple to clean and reuse. With the latest designs it will also look great in your kitchen. ~ Sodastream
I received the Source in red, which was perfect, as it fits beautifully into my kitchen’s colour scheme!
Function
My girls have loved using the new SodaStream Source and trying all the different syrup flavours. The Source is such a convenient gadget to have at home. It is eco-friendly, as it offers an alternative to a plastic bottle and can consumption. You can make fresh, sparkling water, as you like, from as little as R3.33 a litre.
Add fizz to your fruit juice, by adding fizzy water made in your machine, as an alternative to diluting it with ordinary tap water. For us adults, use it to make Tonic or Soda water to use as a mixer, for a more “grownup” drink! 😉
Price & Stockists
The Source is available at DionWired and on Yuppiechef. The recommended retail price is R1599, and you can buy a variety of different syrups, which can be purchased at all major retailers. The syrups range from R34.99 to R38.99.
