The De Hoop Nature Reserve and it’s Marine Protected Area, is one of Cape Nature’s flagship nature reserves, most commonly known for its enormous Southern Right Whale migratory calving population.

There are so many wine regions in the Cape that I have yet to explore properly — one of these being the historic Tulbagh Valley. The red wines from Saronsberg Cellar, in Tulbagh, have always been among my favourites, making it hard to believe that I had yet to visit the estate. All that changed with a recent trip to Saronsberg Cellar and a stay in their Vineyard Cottages.
