2012 is one of those years that a great many people are happy to see the back of! I do feel, however, before you make hasty resolutions or set yourself goals for the New Year, it is vital to reflect on the year gone by. (Not dwell or live in the past, merely reflect!)
The GoodPersonally family is super important to me and I am so thankful to have the amazing family I do! It has been a truly blessed year for our family – special birthdays, new babies born, special people have gotten married, a year filled with life and celebration!
It has been a good year health-wise, although fitness has been somewhat lacking(something to work on in 2013).
We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place and have created many wonderful memories, this year, exploring it!
My blog has gone from strength to strength and I have met wonderful new people and done amazing things, such as TV and radio appearances. I have continued to learn so much and develop new skills along the way.
The Bad
Financial woes have been the topic of many a conversation, many people the world over are struggling to make ends meet. There are so many who live way below the bread-line and a large percentage of children who do not even have their basic needs met. The cost of living in my opinion is way above the earning potential of most and seems is still on the increase! The state of education in SA also seems to be a cause for great concern. Don’t get me started on Politics – much like Religion, it is a topic left well alone in a public forum!
The Ugly
My lowest point this year was having someone hack my website and worst of all it happened just before Christmas! Yes I was spitting mad but most of all it made me very sad and made me wonder about humanity and what makes people do such unnecessary, malicious things. So if you were wondering why the blog has been so quiet here is your reason!
In Conclusion
Although it has been a tough year for most and it is very easy to become bitter and resentful – it is more important to take what has happened and learn from your experiences. Become wiser and more resilient, turn the other cheek and take these lessons learnt in 2012 and make 2013 even more awesome!
