I have decided to revive my Beauty News posts, and there are so many excellent products I need to share with you. One of them is the new Inoar Vegan Range, which is also Cruelty-Free. I may not be a vegan myself, but I do prefer using products that are not tested on animals.
Pantene Pro V Aqua Light {Review}
Pantene Pro V Aqua Light
You may remember a few posts I did last month, on Inspired Living, as well as on social media, about the Pantene Open Trial. If not – to put you in the picture, I have been testing the new Pantene Pro V Aqua Light Shampoo and Condtioner for the past month.
Pantene recently released their newly formulated range, which combats damage caused to hair, by the minerals in tap water. This is all thanks to anti-oxidant ‘Damage Blockers’, which actively target, capture and neutralize the minerals found in tap water.
The Product ~
I have been using the Pantene Pro V Aqua Light shampoo and conditioner, which reinforces fine hair, without weighing it down. Due to the fact that I wash my hair daily, as well as it being fine, I cannot use a product which is too heavy or over moisturising. As well as reinforcing and volumising the hair, the unique Pantene Pro V Aqua Light formula deeply nourishes and protects against styling damage.
My Verdict ~
After using the Pantene Pro V Aqua Light range for just over a month, I can only give you positive feedback! My hair has never felt or looked better. I have found that my hair definitely has more volume and bounce. It is easy to style and it is not fly-away at all. {I do use products, after washing my hair, to prevent heat damage, as I blow-dry my hair daily.}
I promised I would post a photo of my hair after using the Pantene Pro V Aqua Light produtcs! As you can see above my hair is sleek and smooth but still has great volume.
In my opinion if you have fine hair and are looking for volumising products, which will not break the bank, then give the Pantene Pro V Aqua Light range a try!
Top Tip ~
Use a nourishing hair mask once a week, to avoid your hair drying out, especially if it is colour treated.

Pantene Pro V Aqua Light
Pantene Pro V #Shinestrong
At the beginning of May I was invited to be part of an open trial, for the newly formulated Pantene Pro V range. I was sent the Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner, to use for one month and give my feedback, to you my readers, as well as Pantene.
Firstly a bit of background info:
My Hair ~
I have extremely fine hair, which not only has the tendency to be fly-away but also becomes oily very quickly. I am quite fussy about which products I use on my hair and usually buy salon brands but that said I am always willing to try something different.
Creating volume in my otherwise limp hair, is important but I cannot use anything which weighs my hair down.
The advice I was given a few years ago was not to use too many products on my hair. So I stick to a shampoo and conditioner, as well as a product to protect it from heat styling. I tend to not use any styling products such as mousse or gel, as I find this weighs my hair down.
Hair Facts ~
Did you know that washing your hair day after day under the shower, with normal tap water can cause damage to your hair? The minerals found in tap water, that are good for your body, do have a negative effect on your hair over time.
Hair Care Expert and Trichologist, Dr. John Gray explains that levels of copper ions and other minerals are found naturally in all sources of water. These erode the hair’s vital protein layer via oxidation damage that eventually leads to ‘holes in hair’, a condition termed “Protein-Porosis”. ‘This causes hair strands to become brittle, and more prone to breakage,’ explains Dr. Gray.
Pantene’s New Revolutionary Formula ~
After 10 years of research and development, science and beauty have come together in Pantene’s new revolutionary formula. It is set to be your greatest beauty asset, and is the world’s first clinically proven shampoo with damage blockers.
The new Pantene Pro-V formula allows you to have it all – wash after wash. This is all thanks to anti-oxidant ‘Damage Blockers’ that actively target, capture and neutralize the minerals found in tap water. It also provides intense moisturisation and is the first of its kind in a world-wide breakthrough, to repair hair at a molecular level.
Allow this Pro-V formula to work for you by preventing damage caused by daily washing. Most of us do not have the budget to emulate our favourite movie stars’ glossy locks by washing hair in BOTTLED water – With Pantene’s new revolutionary formula you can have it all and achieve the same great result.
The New Pantene Pro-V Promise ~
With continued use of the shampoo, damage-causing mineral impurities are neutralized and the hair’s condition will improve over time.
This technology now preserves hair proteins which are the building blocks of hair health, strengthening the hair fibre from the inside out for healthier hair,” Dr. Gray goes on to explain.
Consumers can also look forward to an entire product upgrade, which will include the newest Pantene Pro-V formula. The brand has undergone a complete make-over, with new- look packaging, communication, as well as a world first solution to water damage.
Pantene’s promise to you is a new damage blocker formula, which will work for you, day after day, wash after wash!
Prepare to #Shinestrong
The Product:
Pantene Aqua Light ~
Fine hair receives a boost with Pantene Aqua Light. The lightweight formula microfortifiers – cleans, targets and helps to reinforce the hair structure along each strand, for fuller, healthy looking hair. Among the many benefits, the unique Pantene Aqua Light formula deeply nourishes and protects against styling damage.
The Verdict:
My Thoughts ~
I have been using the Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner, exclusively, for two weeks now. { I received them on the 7th May.} I wash my hair everyday, so the last thing I want is to dry my hair out, which was my initial concern with using the Aqua Light range. I have however been suitably impressed, with both the condition and manageability of my hair, since starting the trial!
My hair has been easy to style and has a definite bounce and shine to it. I still have two weeks of the trial left and I do like to use products for at least a month before I make my final decision, as to whether it stays or goes.
If you have fine hair like me, I would definitely recommend you give the Pantene Aqua Light range a try. There is also a Light Dual Phase Nourishing Spray available, which fortifies fine hair and helps to protect hair against damage. I am definitely going to give the spray a try as well.
In my next post I will take a photo of my hair to share with you, so that you can draw your own conclusions.
So in closing you definitely cannot lose with these products, especially because the 250ml Aqua Light shampoo and conditioner are under R50!

Garnier Born to be Blonde Transformation & Win
Garnier Born to be Blonde
Hello lovelies! You may remember me mentioning a trip I took up to Jozi recently, for the Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blonde launch or seen a few the pics I posted on social media. Today I am sharing my transformation to 50’s retro icon, with you – you can see my finished look below. I will take you behind the scenes on the day and there is also chance to win something, so read on!
I arrived in Jozi, after a very early start, accompanied by three beauty and fashion bloggers – Abby from One Stilletto At A Time, Carlinn from Superfical Girls and Eloise from Eloise Dreyer Beauty. We had a quick breakfast and were then driven, in our retro rides for the day, to the stunning Veaudry Hair Salon. At the salon we were given a presentation on the new Garnier Pearly Blonde range and a bit of history behind being “blonde”. After the formalities our Garnier Born to be Blonde adventure truly began.
We each had an indepth consultation with our stylist, we discussed our colour choice, as well our vision for our retro 50’s alter ego!
I must admit I was a bit nervous at first when we were chatting about what colour to choose. I was not really keen on going very light blonde! Don’t get me wrong, I love being blonde and I have probably had every blonde hair colour under the sun, including strawberry, which was not a plan! I have however been trying to grow out the very light ash, which I had done a while back. This has resulted in a more ombre look which I love. So when Leandi, my stylist, decided on keeping my more ombre look and adding a few highlights and a darker blonde colour, to accentuate my natural blonde, I was over the moon!
So the process transformation began…
After hair and makeup we were dressed and styled to best reflect our retro 50’s Garnier Born to be Blonde persona. Once the full transformation was complete we were whisked off to Montecasino for our “retro 50’s” photoshoot.
My ride for the day was the most amazing red Mustang!
As well as our photoshoot and individual video diaries, Expresso were also on location for the day to capture our Born to be Blonde experience – you can pop over to watch the clip here.
What an awesome way to spend the day! I must admit though, being a model is lots of hard work, especially in 34º weather but it was worth all the hard work. We had such fun on our Garnier Born to be Blonde journey – proving that maybe, just maybe blondes do have more fun 😉
I could not, not share this amazing Born to be Blonde experience with you! What better way to do it, than a giveaway! Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blondes “Born to be Blonde”
Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blondes
You may have seen me posting about the new Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blondes via social media over the past few days. I will be sharing a bit more about my Garnier “Born to be Blonde” experience soon but in the interim I thought I would share a few details about the product with you.
Garnier Nutrisse has just launched blondes so nourished they shimmer!
A well-known fact for all women, is that your hair is the first thing that people look at when they see you. It defines who you are and is a reflection of your personality. If you have great hair, you feel great! The only problem when you are blonde is finding the perfect colour match, especially when you use home colour.
I can testify when you are blonde, it is hard to imagine your hair being anything else! I went really dark once but I simply did not feel like me!
The search for your perfect blonde is over! New Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blondes in 3 iridescent shades delivers delicate natural looking blondes.
A few interesting “blonde” facts:
- The word “blonde” is thought to derive from the Old English “beblonden” meaning “dyed.”
- Blonde hair gets darker with age and pregnancy.
- Women have been colouring their hair blonde since the time of Ancient Rome.
- Alfred Hitchcock, the “master of suspense,” was obsessed with blondes and cast only blondes in his movies.
- Just two percent of the world’s population is naturally blonde.
The new Garnier Nutrisse Pearly blondes deliver golden, iridescent, delicate blondes with shimmering nuances, thanks to it’s illuminating multi-tonal technology. Blondes are not only left with a multidimensional mix of tones but are left with hair which is soft and deeply nourished.
The Ultra Nourishing Formula is enriched with 3 Oils (Avocado, Olive, Blackcurrant and Shea Butter). Your hair is left feeling silky and looking shiny. This combination of ingredients also helps protect your hair against dryness for up to 8 weeks.
The Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blondes ensure perfectly blended 100% grey coverage, for a long-lasting delicate pearly blonde with an incredible shine.
Nutrisse’s rich, non-drip colour crème is so easy to work through your hair. Just remember to read the packaging insert carefully and do the 48 hour allergy test before using the product.
Garnier Nutrisse Pearly blondes are available in all clicks stores and will be available in Dischem from the 1 February. RRP R99.95. For more information on the Garnier Nutrisse Pearly Blondes visit their Facebook page.
