- L’Oréal Professionnel Volumetry Anti-Gravity Shampoo ~ I have very fine hair which has a tendency to become greasy but find that most volumising products leave my hair feeling heavy and looking dull! I recently received a voucher from the Retailbox, which I used to buy this shampoo and have been really impressed with it! Your hair is left feeling cleansed and looking volumised but not sticky or over volumised. The L’Oréal Professionnel Volumetry Anti-Gravity Shampoo is enriched with Salicylic Acid and Hydralight. RRP R191 for 250ml Retailbox {Disclosure Ranking:2}
- L’Oréal Professionnel Volumetry Anti-Gravity Conditioner ~ As with the shampoo the conditioner is L’Oréal’s perfect solution for fine hair, which is prone to oiliness. RRP R191 for 150ml Retailbox {Disclosure Ranking:2}
- Garnier Pure Active BB Cream ~ I may have mentioned before I am not a BB Cream fan, very possibly because I have not found the right one yet. I do find that they tend to leave my skin feeling and looking oily after a few hours of wear but I have actually enjoyed the new Garnier Pure Active BB Cream. It is still not something, which I would use everyday but for a quick, out the door in 15 minutes, makeup look it does the job. The coverage is fairly light but again perfect if you just need to pop out to the shops or do the school run! The Garnier Pure Active BB Cream is recommended for skin which is prone to imperfections, it has a high performing formula combining 2% anti bacterial Salicylic Acid. With the concealing power of mineral pigments to instantly beautify your skin tone and help reduce the appearance of imperfections. It has a SPF15 filter, which helps protect from the harmful effects of the sun. RRP R84.95 for (50ml) Clicks Stores – available in “Light” and “Medium” {Disclosure Ranking:2}
- Oygenetix Foundation ~ Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation is a breakthrough foundation to cover, help heal and minimize – even eliminate – procedural scars. Designed for doctors, this Breathable foundation covers and treats a wide variety of skin problems: skin injuries, wounds, rashes, cracked, dry skin, acne scars, rosacea and other skin conditions. I received this foundation to try after a Dermaceutic Milk Peel, which I had recently and all I can say is amazing!!! {I said that quite a lot in the video!} It really does calm your skin instantly and covers any evidence of redness. “Ceravitae”, the super charged oxygen complex in the Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation, increases collagen cell and connective tissue growth, in aging or wounded skin. Because of the unique properties of Oxygenetix, it is also great skin care, which can be used as a daily skin friendly foundation. As well as redness is also covers pigmentation very well. It is definitely not cheap but in my opinion worth every cent! RRP R710 Conquest {Disclosure Ranking:2}
- Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry ~ There was so much hype when the new Revlon Matte and Laquer Balms came out in SA a few months back but I sadly could not find any shades that I liked! I have been looking ever since and eventually I stumbled across this one, Sultry and I am in love! - Maybelline Clossal Go Extreme Volum’ Mascara ~ Masacara is my one, don’t leave home without it eye product! If I am wearing nothing else on my eyes I have to wear mascara – truth be told I feel naked without it! This is one of the new Maybelline Mascaras, which should be in stores from June 2014. {Review} Dermaceutic Milk Peel at Chelsea Aesthetic Centre
A few days ago I reviewed Regen Ceutic, a skin recovery cream, from the Dermaceutic Homecare range. Dermarceutic is a range of cosmeceuticals created by Dermatologists and surgeons specialising in facial rejuvenation. The Dermaceutic range offers technologically advanced skin care products for their patients, to accompany general medical and cosmetic procedures. The range helps to prepare skin, optimize and maintain the results of all medical and cosmetic procedures.
As well as their homecare range, Dermaceutic have a deep knowledge of the most efficient chemical peel agents and have also developed a range of professional peels. A chemical peel is essentially an accelerated form of exfoliation, induced by a chemical agent. It activates different types of modifications in the skin, depending on the depth of the peel.
Along with the Dermaceutic products, which I was given to review, I was invited to experience a Dermaceutic Milk Peel. I only started doing peels on my skin quite recently and I am still nervous when I go for one, as I have heard so many horror stories! You are, after all putting chemicals on your delicate skin.
On Monday I visited the stunning Chelsea Aesthetic Centre, in Wynberg to enjoy my treatment. I was placed in the very capable hands, of the owner of Chelsea Aesthetic Centre, Melanie. After assessing my skin and discussing my skin care needs Melanie began my treatment. Before applying the Milk Peel Melanie performed a series of treatments to prepare my skin for the peel and make it more receptive.
Once Melanie had applied the peel, I did experience a mild stinging sensation but nothing unbearable. After about 10 minutes a neutraliser was applied to my skin, which I was warned would make the stinging sensation worse but again it was not unbearable. As Melanie explained the Milk Peel, is a smart peel, it targets areas of your skin, which require attention, such as fine lines, dull complexion and loss of tone or in my case pigmentation and helps to restores a radiant complexion.
After the peel has been removed, Melanie performed a few extra specialised treatments to help target my pigmentation, before she applied a serum and cream, to my skin, to help reduce the sensitivity caused by the treatments.
Initially my skin was quite red and sensitive in the areas which Melanie had targeted, specifically the areas of pigmentation but after two days this subsided. I have experienced a bit of dry peeling skin but overall my skin looks and feels amazing, which is one of the huge bonuses of the Milk Peel – there is very little down time! Melanie did say that it would take at least a week for my skin to return to normal.
I am continuing to use the Regen Ceutic as post treatment care, as well as the most amazing foundation by Oxygenetix, which I will tell you about in another article.
I would just like to say thank you to both Dermaceutic and Chelsea Aesthetic Centre for giving me the opportunity to experience the Milk Peel, it is definitely something I will be doing again! RRP Dermaceutic Milk Peel at Chelsea Aesthetic Centre R550.

{Review} Regen Ceutic by Dermaceutic
As you may already know I have been waging a war on pigmentation over the past few years! It is a battle which I feel I have been less than successful at winning but along this journey, I have discovered a handful of amazing skin care products! One of these products which I recently started using is Regen Ceutic by Dermaceutic.
Dermaceutic is a range of cosmeceuticals created by Dermatologists and surgeons specialising in facial rejuvenation. The Dermaceutic range offers technologically advanced skin care products for their patients, to accompany general medical and cosmetic procedures. The range helps to prepare skin, optimize and maintain the results of all medical and cosmetic procedures.
Apart from my issues with pigmentation, I have extremely sensitive skin, so I cannot just slap on any old cream. Although it is important to me to try and reverse the pigmentation, I am also determined to maintain good skin tone and protect my skin against the elements. I am always hesitant when trying new skin care and will always do a bit of research on the product before I start using it.
Regen Ceutic, which I have been using is part of the Dermaceutic Homecare Range. It is a Skin Recovery Cream, which accelerates epidermal restoration post aesthetic treatments: nourishes and firms the skin. Regen Ceutic contains, 3% Peptides Complex ~ a synergy of 2 of the most efficient peptides, which stimulates collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin production to induce an anti-wrinkle effect from within, 3% Hyaluronic Acid ~ Moisturizes skin and improves firmness, Stabilized vitamin C & E ~ a combination of vitamins which combats and limits the signs of photo-aging and has an anti-inflammatory action, as well as Shea butter ~ which hydrates and nourishes the skin. It is recommended for sensitive, dehydrated and aging skin.
The Dermaceutic homecare range focuses on the three essential areas of skin rejuvenation: stimulation, protection and repair. It was created to address most skin types’ needs- from pigmentation, to fine lines, to acne. The products are packaged in airless bottles to ensure optimum hygiene, ease of use and a minimal concentration of preservatives.
I have found Regen Ceutic amazing! The formulation although light-weight, once applied, instantly hydrates my skin, while calming any redness or sensitivity. This is definitely a product I will continue using as a part of my everyday skin care routine! I also think as far as more high-end skin care products go, the RRP of R 550.00 for R30ml, it is quite affordable.
For details on these and other products please visit the Dermaceutic SA Website.
