I recently entered a competition on one of my favourite blogs, IndieBerries, the competition was sponsored by Consol Glass. I never really expected to win anything – so imagine my surprise when I was told I had won R500’s worth of glass products! Yay me! So I thought it would be fun to share a few of the items I won with you, in the form of rather retro photographs – I was having a bit of fun with my camera!
Young Art
I thought I would share a few recent art pieces that my girls had on exhibition at school. Of these art pieces, they each had a piece entered into the Art Eisteddfod – a very proud Mommy moment! I am over joyed that they are both so creative and each in their own unique way. I grew up in a home where creativity was celebrated and it is still very much a part of my life today and something wonderful that I can share with my girls!

Polacoaster
I wanted to share this awesome new product with you, especially at this time of the year – we are all looking for different ideas for Christmas gifts. Everyone loves taking those holiday snaps but what to do with them? There are only so many frames you can put up around the house! So what if there was some other more interactive way, to share these memories with others? This innovative idea uses those treasured pics and turns them into a multifunctional coaster – a Polacoaster!
What better way to share your memories than over a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. Your Polacoasters will become a talking point at dinner parties – sharing all of your holiday photos with friends and family, or what about a personalised set of coasters for Granny and Grandpa with pictures of those precious grandkids.
Polacoasters offer a unique multifunctional design with a single rare-earth magnet hidden behind a thin cork backing, taking your photographs from the fridge to the dinner table. A high quality uv-resistant resin provides a protective coating with a high gloss finish through which to display your photos.
So if you are looking for a wonderful gift for family and friends, or a PR gift for clients, what an awesome idea. Click on over to the Polacoaster website and let your imagination run wild.
I have included a few of the Polacoasters that we have had done featuring pictures from a recent Franschhoek trip.
These are a few of the sample pics from the Polacoaster website:

My Fashion File – Swimwear Trends Summer 2011/2012
As the weather seems to be getting warmer here, in Cape Town, the time has come to start thinking about venturing out and making a few necessary purchases. So I thought I would do something fun, to get you in the mood for summer and give you some idea of what’s out there on the swimwear scene.
The look this summer definitely has retro references, with a return to 60’s & 70’s swimwear glamour. One piece costumes are making a big come back, in either bold – solid colours or flirty florals, which are more feminine with flounces and frills.
Swimwear Trends 2011/2012 by supermomsa featuring 77kids
The trend in bikinis are nude, neutral tones and even shimmery gold’s – if you are looking for a bit more bling. To complete your look, you can shade yourself from the sun with a giant sun hat or tie a scarf around your head for a bit of 70’s styling.
So be daring and try something different this season and whatever your style just have fun with it, it is summer after all! See you on the beach! 😎
