4 Things

Earlier this year after doing my wardrobe sort I have gotten into the habit of making wishlists, which can include anything from an overseas holiday to a pair of shoes! So today I am sharing 4 Things On My Wishlist 🙂

By making wishlists I find it easier to save for bigger items and have a set goal in mind when I am going out shopping. It is also great to have a wishlist so that when people ask you what you would like for pressies you have it on hand!

Elie Saab Le Perfum this is definitely top of my fragrance wishlist!

This Kitchen Aid coffee maker is a beaute and would be a perfect addition to my kitchen – still trying to convince my hubby to go manual after our pod machine died 🙂

This is a real “lust-have” I guess it does not have to be real leather as “pleather” seems to be the in-thing at the moment but I would prefer it to be real leather{love the smell}. Maybe this wish will become a reality when we travel to Italy next year 🙂

Last but not least are these gorgeous Swarovski earings – so pretty don’t you think? I think this may be top of my Christmas wishlist!

As you know by now I am a very visually expressive person and I love photography! Instagram is like Pinterest, rather addictive but loads of fun. Snapping shots on the go and posting them has become part of what I do. It is a great way to share all the things you love, via images, with like minded creative souls 🙂

Wine and bubbly feature often on my feed! Living in Cape Town I am particularly split with the amazing wine on offer and I frequently have the opportunity of attending wine events and food and wine pairing.

As much as wine features, so does food! Whether it is my own home-cooking or amazing fine dining it will hopefully always be drool-worthy!

Last but not least, I live in such a beautiful place it would be rude not to share it with the world! One of my favourite photographic moments are sunsets! Some so beautiful they take your breath away!

4 Things

This weeks 4 Things, are things that make me smile! Life can be so hectic but it is still important to remember, to do things that make you smile and treat yourself as often as possible! These are a few of the things, which bring a smile to my face 🙂 Coffee well need I say more – I love coffee, especially cups which arrive, with such cute faces! 🙂

4 Things..., Be Inspired

4 Things

I have decided to revive a series which I shared on the blog a while back, called 4 Things. In this series I share things I love, new things I am trying, places I have gone, things I have learnt or they could simply be, things I would like to share with you.

1 Typo ~ I am loving all my new Typo goodies, especially my Golden-Apple Pen Holder. My bit of “bling” for my desk! All the girls in our house love Typo so it is usually a fight over who gets what! 🙂

2 Lingerie Letters ~ My favourite type of mail to receive! Truth be told my hubby probably gets more excited than I do 😉 It really is such a fun subscription and only costs R95 per month. This months lacy pink pair is so pretty – don’t you agree?

3 Catch Me by Cacharel ~ Officially my new favourite fragrance, which I bough on my way home, from my trip to Thailand. This is a wonderfully summery perfume, which although floral has notes of citrus and almond, making it refreshingly youthful. It is such a pretty fragrance and what a gorgeous bottle – need I say more!

4 Hey Gorgeous ~ I am loving the new goodies I am trying out from Hey Gorgeous. My eldest daughter and I are trying their Banish and Repair range, which we are both enjoying and best of all – their products are “made with love”!

4 Things I Learnt This Weekend

Children truly are better off without too much stuff! After spending a weekend away, with friends, in a rather remote area approximately 4 hours from Cape Town, I have realised all children really need, on vacation, is the company of other children and open spaces! This allows them the freedom to just be “children”! (After all children do not remember the accommodation “star” rating but they do remember the fun they had!)
Expectations can often obscure your experiences. This may be a tricky one to understand but I have found if you go into a situation expecting too much you are often disappointed – so my solution this weekend was to not expect too much and I was pleasantly surprised! I think it also allows you to make the most of any situation you find yourself in.
If you give someone the opportunity to achieve a goal, outside of their comfort zone, most often they will surprise you and themselves by actually achieving success. Allowing 11-year-old girls the opportunity, over the weekend, to drive a boat by themselves proved that you can in fact do anything you put your mind to. (We may have created a few “river rats” in the process!)
Last but certainly not least, I proved that I can survive without both my cell phone and laptop, I am not saying that it was easy but it can be done! Did I miss having these things – most definitely but let me tell you something interesting – I slept much better at night!
