Father’s Day 2017 is less than a week away, and if you haven’t got the foggiest idea what to buy that special someone in your life, I thought I would share a few of my ideas.
Father’s Day 2017
When shopping for gifts, I always try and buy something the person wants or needs – not simply something I think would be cool. My advice if you are clueless, then do a bit of snooping before you hits the shops. As much as my hubby jokes about getting jocks and socks for gifts, they are in fact things he needs! It is also a good idea to have some fun with your gift selection, find things that are unusual and quirky.
Gift Ideas
Below I have listed a few great places to shop, as well as a handful of gift ideas, from each one. Hopefully, this will bring you inspiration for your last minute shopping quest.
Yuppiechef
Braai gear is something most men want and need, so you can never go wrong with a set of Braai Gloves. Yuppichef also sells a range of craft beers, glasses and gift boxes for men. If you have a foodie on your hands, the Nomu Cooks Collection Classic Spice Rack will be perfect! Featured above: Humble & Mash Leather Braai Gloves, Set of 2 R379.00.
Gift Emporium
As well as buying something he needs or wants, I also love to buy local. The Gift Emporium has great South African made gifts. One in particular that caught my eye is their Cappuccino Stencil of South Africa, which is fun and different. Perfect for the dad who loves coffee. Other great gifts featured on their website include a Tie Organiser, as well as a Sock Organiser. Featured above: Cappuccino Stencil R100.00.
Woolworths
Clothing never goes amiss when it comes to treating that special father figure in your life! Woolies has a great range of winter goodies in stock, from wooly jumpers, beanies, and scarves, to super warm fleece gowns. They also have fantastic foodie and grooming gifts. If you are looking for something small that won’t break the budget, then I love their “Just Add Dad Eco Mug.” Featured above: Just Add Dad Eco Mug R99.95.
Cape Union Mart
If your dad is a gadget fundi, then Cape Union Mart is the place to shop. They also a great selection of camping, sporting, and outdoor equipment. Something I think every man {and woman for that matter} should own is a multitool or leatherman. The Cape Union Arges Multitool is a handy eight function tool, complete with scissors, pliers, and a serrated knife. Featured above: Cape Union Arges Multitool R199.00.
Exclusive Books
Books are also an excellent idea, and although eBooks are super popular, there is nothing better than reading an actual book! Again do a bit of research and find out if there are any books he has in mind. For the wine-loving dad, the Wineries of the Cape from Exclusive Books is a fantastic gift. Featured above: Wineries of the Cape R244.00.
Netflorist
Another favourite, well certainly with the men in my life is biltong. Netflorist sells a fabulous selection of biltong and biltong gadgets. I particularly love this Personalised Biltong Cutter, which you can personalise with your dad’s name. Featured above: Personalised Biltong Cutter R399.995 or R549.95 with biltong.
Others gifts worth considering for Father’s Day 2017, is a gift voucher for the movies or a wine or craft beer tasting experience.
These are a few of the gifts I know the men in my life would appreciate, and I hope you find them helpful!
